The Artistry of Holding Safe Space

Holding safe space acknowledges that a person is experiencing deep, perhaps complicated
feelings. Holding space honors that emotions must be felt and endured not numbed and buried.
This sacred environment is quiet and strong and it doesn’t rush to “fix” anything. Once the
circumstances are created, the safe space fosters listening to and empathizing with the client as
they express their voice and choice. A held space is a container of possibility cultivated out of
the expansiveness of the coach’s personal presence.
Heart Centering - Our capacity to live more from the Heart, and to access its vast intelligence and healing potential. This is a reminder of the Healing Potential of this work. You will learn how to live more from the Heart and less from the head.
Accepting - To be able to welcome and accept others, as they are, with compassionate understanding and empathy is an Act of Unconditional Love. You will learn how to perceive the innate goodness and potential that is our “essential self”.
Trusting - People thrive in spaces that cultivate calm and security, nurture creative thinking, and ignite the flame of Growth. You will learn to drop shadowy agendas and develop trust so that you may open up to yourself and the world.
Creating sacred space
take a deep breath in and let it out take another deep breath in and as you let it out release all the events of the past day
week month take a few moments to focus on your breath as you inhale gathering all the positive energy the happiness you have spread during the day as you exhale let go of any unnecessary energy you might have picked up today send it back to the universe to be recycled.
Relax and let every last bit of tension disappear from your muscles continue breathing slowly and deeply
if you could be anywhere in the world where would you go would you go to the beach or the mountains would you go to a forest or your grandmother's kitchen?
Your sacred space can be anywhere real or imagined in the past, present or future wherever your sacred spaces it is somewhere that you feel completely safe completely calm and comfortable.
reach out with all your senses What do you smell
what is the light like?
What sounds do you hear
Can you taste the air
What Can you feel
what is the temperature like
are there any people or animals here
do they make you feel secure and at ease
these are your spirit guides or your animal guides if you are not comfortable with them in your space you may politely ask them to leave otherwise they will assist you by holding your space and protecting it

visualize everything in great detail
reach out and touch something that you see can you pick it up
what does it feel like
turn to your right what do you see now
what colors do you see
What can you touch in this direction?
Turn to your right again how has the view changed
are there any different smells
Can you taste anything different in the air
turn to your right once more now what do you see
is the light different from this direction
what can you feel over here
walk a full circle around the perimeter of the place you have just visualized as you walk you leave behind a trail of protective energy you are sealing this place as yours and yours alone No one may enter save by your invitation.
this is your safe place Nothing can harm you here or on any journey you take that big inns here. Bask in the comfort of this familiar protected place
from this point forward, anytime you feel the need to relax, calm down or let go, you may come here your sacred place will help ground you and comfort you. It is an excellent place to begin meditations and it is here for you anytime you need it
take a deep breath in and let it out. The peace and safety you have created remain within you. Take another deep breath in. And when you're ready, open your eyes and return to the Room.
